Weekend in Livorno. Livorno is a port city in Tuscany and is the capital of the Italian province of the same name. There live approx. 155.000 inhabitants. The city is located on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea and has one of the largest ports in Italy.
The history of Livorno dates back to Roman times. It was a small fishing village and outpost to defend the port of Pisa. Today Livorno is an important port city and a major transportation hub. Ferries go directly to Sardinia and to Corsica.
