Park – Seleger Moor

Park Seleger Moor

Trip to the Seleger Moor

Park – Seleger Moor. Many years ago I visited the Seleger Moor for the first time. I had only a vague memory of the blooming azaleas and rhododendrons. Over the weekend we took the opportunity to explore again. Several years have passed between the first visit and that weekend. The former garden has grown into a beautiful adventure park. It is a pity that we were two weeks too late to admire the blooming rhododendrons and azaleas, because by now the blooming season is over. Instead, we meet newly created paths and water bodies.

Water lilies and frogs

There are several ponds in the park. The ponds are designed to show off different varieties of water lilies. Depending on the depth, the waters are planted or even inhabited. Beautiful are the splashes of color in the water. The white flowers need depth, the other red specimens thrive even in rather shallow environments. We even saw yellow pond roses. No wonder Claude Monet fell in love with water lilies. The round leaves and the reflections enchant all visitors. Besides the beautiful flowers, frogs cavort in the ponds. This can be quite noisy.

Theme trail

There is also a theme trail leading through the park. On winding paths we reach rare plants and trees. The paths are lined with wood chips, so the earth bobs along slightly as you walk on it. Since the individual ferns and leaves have grown large and tall, I feel like I’m in the Jungle.

Benches and seating

So that we visitors can enjoy the birds and beautiful plants, wooden benches line the paths. Here we can rest and admire nature. For families and smaller guests there is a barbecue area. If you feel like coffee and cake, take a break in the restaurant. There are also snacks available. In case of rain, shelters with roofs are available.

Sale of plants

Plants from the own nursery can be purchased there. Those who still have space in the garden or on the terrace will surely find a suitable plant there and the memory of the excursion will live on in the garden.

Concerts

In June, July and September, every Thursday evening, music plays. In this romantic environment a concert must be beautiful, I imagine. Be sure to check the dates on the website beforehand.

The excursion is also suitable for families. Even strollers can be pushed well on the normal paths.

Who has never been to the Seleger Moor? An excursion is also worthwhile after the rhododendrons are in bloom. After visiting the park, you can take a swim in the nearby Türler lake. The OllO World team wishes you a nice excursion.
