Italianità!

Italianità

Round trip Lombardy – Piedmont – Liguria

Italianità! For once we are heading towards the Riviera. Past vineyards, rice fields down to the sea.

Italianità! Alfa Romeo Museum

After spending the night in Milan, we visit the Alfa Romeo Museum. The Alfa Spider still makes my heart beat a little faster. However, the history of the brand begins with airplanes and racing boats, which amazed us. Only later were cars developed. Many prototypes were never built in series. It’s a pity actually, because there are already very impressive models. Somehow the whole interior reminds us of the 70s. Thirsty and hungry? No problem, there is also a restaurant integrated in the house.

Relais Sant’ Uffizio

Do you want to be pampered with culinary delights? This is the right place for you. The Hotel is located in the middle of vineyards in Piedmont. Guests can linger in the garden with swimming pool. We didn’t test the wellness area, as the weather was too nice to spend the few sunny days of the year indoors. Both restaurants have their charms. The upscale Locanda serves up wonderful creations. Especially the entrees are in a class of their own. For the small appetite, the Bistro is the right address, because under the pergola the last rays of sunshine can be enjoyed during dinner. My tip, try both options.

Asti

There are many places in the area that are worth seeing. We took a trip to Asti and also fully immersed in the flea market. What everything is sold here, all things second hand, yet buyers can be found for it. Watching the market hustle and bustle is a world of its own. In Palazzo Mazzetti beautiful murals with an ancient weaving technique are exhibited.

Italianità! Pietra Ligure

The small town by the sea is very popular, especially with the locals. It’s just a pity that between the beach there is a road and a railroad line.Railway lovers pay attention, so the route Milan – Nice is a pleasure, because part of the route runs along the sea. We opted for a more modern hotel. On the roof there is a bar with a whirlpool. There is always a balmy breeze up here. The comfortable chairs and benches as well as the deck chairs tempt you to laze around. So you are alone on the roof and down on the beach the locals are lounging on their paid deck chairs and umbrellas. We, too, have always been drawn to the small coastal restaurants. Pure Italianità!

Pietra Ligure

The return journey we have tackled via Genoa along the sea. So we could examine the coast with the many beaches before the journey home. Who knows, maybe we will come back soon. Only finding parking spaces is an impossibility. Especially when the Italians are still on vacation, because they know how and where to park.

Surely the truffle season will soon begin in Piedmont. We just missed it. Maybe you will have more luck. How about a trip to Piedmont?
