The animals wear elaborate bells around their necks and are sometimes decorated with flowers and ribbons. The procession in Heiden is known for its beautiful decorations and festive atmosphere. Now the farmers and alpine dairymen can interact with the people from the city and the surrounding villages. We now have the opportunity to ask them what life is like on the farm. This promotes understanding and gives an interesting aspect to meat and dairy farming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Swiss Brown Swiss<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Swiss Brown Swiss is a cattle breed consisting of the two breeding lines Brown Swiss and Original Braunvieh. It is considered a fit protein breed in beef cattle and shows great performance potential in dairy (Brown Swiss) and dual purpose for milk and meat (Original Braunvieh). Cows weigh between 550 and 750 kg with a standing height of 138 to 152 cm, while bulls weigh between 1000 and 1300 kg. Brown Swiss are known for their longevity, rich milk, fertility and adaptability. The back mating with American Brown Swiss animals mainly resulted in the improvement of milk yield. Brown Swiss milk is very suitable for cheese production.
