Off to Turin. Is Turin the little sister of Milan or rather the other way around? Turin is a wonderful city for a weekend visit. From Zurich it is only about 5 hours by train. If you change to the Frecciarossa in Italy, the trip is especially pleasant. If you still afford the 1st class all the more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tickets for museums<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

My tip: Turin is a welcome change even in winter. There are enough museums. Many are so interesting that you can easily spend 2 hours to visit all the rooms and floors. Accordingly, they are also popular with tourists. Therefore, I recommend to order tickets in advance, so that the annoying queuing can be avoided. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mole Antonelliana<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The mole Antonelliana is the landmark and also the largest tower in Turin. The film museum is also integrated in the building. The elevator takes you to the observation deck. Wow, is that an awesome view over the city. Inside the tower you can dive into the film world of the past. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monte dei Cappuccini<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We wanted to photograph the tower still in a skyline. On the Monte dei Cappuccini we found the perfect picture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Valentino Park<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After shooting on Monte dei Cappuccini, we hit the road to Valentino Park.  On weekends this is a popular place. For hours you can walk along the Po River and pass by various sights. Valentino Castle is now the Faculty of Architecture and the building was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997.  A little further is the entrance to the Burgo y Roca Medieval, an ancient historical town recreated from the 15th century. The Fontana dei 12 Mesi is also worth a photo. The fountain is surrounded by 12 sculptures, each depicting a month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old Town<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A stroll through the old town is a must. Here are more historical buildings and museums. The Egyptian Museum, the Musei Reali, the National Library and the shopping mile with its many boutiques or cafes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Galleria Subalpina<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

From my point of view, the Galleria Subalpina is one of the most beautiful places in Turin. Here you can find the caf\u00e9 & pastry shop Baratti & Milano. The chocolate cake is almost legendary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turin goes green<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At Green Pea, sustainable living and sustainable clothes are presented on different floors, so you may see the future trends. At Eataly (the building near by), only Italian delicacies are sold, so you will find some gift for the family or friends. Emphasis is placed on local products. If you have time and are interested in sustainability, then this is the place to be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
