Family Paradise Lake Sarnen
Lake hike Giswil – Sarnen. Now that heat records are being broken everywhere, the temperature at Lake Sarnen is pleasant. Of course for our conditions the sun is beating down, but in contrast to the Mediterranean it is almost paradisiacal.
Along the Sarnersee, Sachseln
Our walk starts in Giswil. It takes us a few minutes to reach the lake. We take the path towards Sachseln. From here on I find the hike exciting. From Sachseln on, trees line the path and there are several bathing possibilities. We find the bathing establishment in Sachseln super cool. It is small and nice. The integrated restaurant invites you to take a break. A cool drink and a jump into the water is now urgently needed. That’s why I recommend to pack your swimming trunks.
On we go. On this part the path impresses with the old bath houses. Unfortunately, these are privately owned and closed with a door. Benches are scattered on the meadow. Some of the walkers have secured a place under the trees here and now jump into the cool water.
Sarnen
Popular in Sarnen is the bathing establishment Seefeld with attached camping site. It is located directly on the lake and has a swimming pool in addition to the lake. The location is also captivating because of the old trees that provide natural shade. The restaurant is a meeting place for hikers. The next cooling down comes very handy for us. The mild wind under the trees tempts us to linger.
Children’s playground Sarnen
About 20 minutes away from the swimming pool and diagonally opposite the landing stage, there is a beautiful playground with water elements. The kids love this place, so I definitely recommend packing a bathing suit, sun hat and sunscreen. A stone’s throw away is a little shop with seating where you can buy snacks and drinks as well as ice cream.
Sarnen Coffee Bar 13/15
A highlight is the coffee bar 13/15 in Sarnen. The Cold Brew with oranges is a hit and insider tip. We liked it so much that we tried our way through the menu.
