Hirzli mountain top
Hike to the top of the Hirzli mountain. With the cable car Niederurnen to Morgenholz we reach the top station after 522 meters of altitude. From there we start the 2 hour hike up to the Hirzli at 1640 m. Even though it is pleasantly warm in the mountains, we still work up a sweat.
Sculpture trail
Partly we cross the sculpture path. This is made for children and motivates them to hike. Forty different wooden figures are scattered along the trail. The forester created them with the chain saw. At the ropeway, there are booklets for the children. They have to find 9 of the wooden figures and mark them on the sheet. When they have found the correct solution, they can hand the sheet at the counter in the valley station. As a souvenir they may choose an animal figure there. We have only touched this path but still found beautiful wooden figures. .
Hirzli
After a steep climb, we finally reach the top of the mountain and are rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view. Although, the sweat runs in streams down the head. Wow, we have to take a deep breath first and give ourselves a break. So, now the cell phone comes into play and we capture the mood with photos and movies. We are proud and happy to have reached the summit.
We tackle the descent very comfortably. Back in Morgenholz, we wait for the cable car to take us back down to the valley station. The operating hours are from May 1 to November 1. Every day the cable car runs every half hour from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. Attention, the lunch break is from 11:45 – 13:05 hours. On Saturday and Sunday the lunch break is from 11:30 – 13:00 hours.
