Circular hike Stockhorn. The circular hike Stockhorn is a scenically extremely popular tour in the Bernese Oberland. The hike starts at the cable car station Chrindi, the middle station of the Stockhorn cable car. With the cable car we continue up to the top of the Stockhorn. High at 2190 meters above sea level. A short high-altitude walk of 5 minutes leads to the viewing platform. In good weather, a breathtaking low and wide view awaits us. We can see from Lake Thun to the Jura. The view from there is indescribable.
Oberstockenalp
Before we hike to the Oberstockensee we have a coffee on the terrace of the panorama restaurant. From there we hike to Oberstockenalp, where you can have a meal in the cozy mountain restaurant Oberstockenalp.
Mountain Inn
Oberstockenalp is a mountain inn at an altitude of 1776 meters above sea level. The inn offers accommodation in a bed under stars, double rooms and a dormitory. Overnight stays in the star bed and double rooms can be booked online. Oberstockenalp is also famous for its alpine cheese.
Lake Oberstocken
Via the alpine paths we reach the Oberstocken lake and then through the forest to Hinterstocken and back to the middle station Chrindi.
The tour is classified as T1 and takes about 2-2 1/2 hours. The route is about 6 kilometers long and has an altitude difference of about 380 meters. A good footwear is highly recommended.
